I can’t wait!!
The spring equinox arrives Wednesday, March 20th at 5:58 pm.
Yippee!!

We will witness the rebirth of nature. The flowers will bloom; the trees will bud and daylight hours will be extended. And yes, the temperature will rise!

Are you ready?

What are your usual thoughts when it comes to spring? Shedding layers? Spending more time outdoors? Organizing and clearing clutter?

Spring is a time of renewal. While our focus may be on our living environment, let’s also clear our mind of stale thoughts and ideas. It's time to give ourselves a fresh new outlook and perspective.

Here are a few tips on how:
  • Connect with friends
Winter has loosened its grip and we can come out of hibernation. The weather gives us an incentive to get out of the house and catch up with friends. Spending time laughing & sharing can reduce your stress level, boosts your spirits and improve your outlook. Call a friend and schedule a lunch.

  • Move your body
We are aware of the physical benefits of physical activity on the heart, blood pressure and girth but there are also documented benefits for the brain. It improves mood, decreases stress, improves self-confidence and self-esteem. Choose an activity you love and let loose. Or give yourself permission to try something new.

  • Take a salsa class;
  • Participate in a bike tour;
  • Increase your steps by participating in a walking tour;
  • Tennis anyone?
  • Swimming……..

          HAVE FUN while shaking out the cobwebs!

  • Take a technology break
We are constantly bombarded with notifications and breaking news.
Take time to unplug.
Unplug from the negativity.

  • Have a screen-free day- no tv, no computer, no cell phone
  • Have a no phone during meals rule.
  • Watch less news
  • Schedule your screen time.
For example, take 15mins to check texts and email at 8 am, 12 noon, 4 pm and 8 pm.
During your technology break time, have a real conversation with a real person; read a book; connect with nature.

  • Write it out
We often hold onto our emotions, fears, and experiences. If we are not able to articulate them, writing them out can be a cathartic experience.
Write whatever comes to mind.
Don’t worry about grammar, punctuation or spelling, just write.

You don't need to share it.
You don't need to read it.
Just release your thoughts.
You can tear it up later if you choose.

Be kind to yourself as you purge the old, stale and negative thoughts that have collected over the winter. Approach the spring, feeling lighter, energized & renewed.
