Hi ,

What is going to tip the scales for you?

What is going to get you off of the fence?

When will you give yourself permission to live your life to your fullest potential?

You wake every morning and follow the same routine?

You feel like you are pushing yourself out of bed after you have pressed the snooze button several times, signifying that you would rather not face your day.

What would pull you out of bed? What excites you enough that you want to get out of bed and get immersed in your day?

If you are not doing something, at least one thing, that excites you, why isn’t it happening?

I can hear the responses now--- energy, time, money, finances, other obligations...

Life is short.

We know this intellectually but our actions do not line up with this knowledge

"It’s only when we truly know and understand that we have a limited time on earth-
and that we have no way of knowing when our time is up, we will then begin to live each day to the fullest as if it was the only one we had."
~Elizabeth Kubler Ross

Sometimes it takes a health scare, our own or a loved one, or the death of a loved one to get us thinking about what is really important to us.

Then, and only then, and only perhaps, will what we think is important, become a priority.

We receive the exam results and we decide this is it, "I'm going to…
  • "Enjoy... more";
  • "Eat better";
  • "Be more physically active";
  • "Spend quality time with family friends";
  • "Start or complete....";
  • "Travel more";
  • "See more";...
  • "Do less…"

Until...we fall back into the malaise of our same old patterns.

Why do we revert to our old patterns?

We say we want ….. but our want to not suffer; to not experience rejection; to not experience failure, overpowers our desire for change.

It ‘s not always convenient or comfortable to make changes.

Consistent action even when you don’t feel like it is going to win the day.

Consistent action, big or small.

Some of us like to rip the bandage off in one swoop, others a little at a time. The result will be the same just as long as you continue to pull.

What would pull you out of bed? What excites you and makes you feel more engaged? What would provide purpose and meaning to your life?

We all have a purpose. Those constant thoughts, dreams, yearnings,  "I wish I could’s", are bubbling up for a reason.

It's time to pay attention!

Those "I wish I could’s" are desires that are pointing to your purpose; ways to accentuate your strengths; maximize your potential and give back to your world.

They persist because you are capable of accomplishing them.

" If you can imagine it, you can achieve it."
If you can dream it, you can become it."
~William Arthur Ward

You are capable!

You may not know the HOW, but all you need to know is what to do right now.

Imagine how you would feel if each day you were taking a step to live your life with purpose and meaning.
  • Less stressed?
  • Motivated?
  • Energized?

To help you experience these feelings I recommend you complete the following exercise.

For this exercise, you will need a pen and paper or a fresh sheet of a notebook and 15 minutes.

You are going to write a letter FROM your Future Self at 90+ years old to Current Day You.

Write whatever comes to mind.

What you write may not make sense, just keep writing.

Refrain from judging or editing.

This is for YOU, no one else.

By doing this exercise you will uncover intuitive truths that will guide you towards creating the life of purpose and meaning that you want.

Set the timer for 15 minutes and write.

Start with this prompt:

Dear (YOUR NAME),

I’d like you to know that…

As you write, ask your future self questions.
What would you like to know? What do you need to know?

When the timer goes off put your writing aside for 30 minutes before going back to read it.
What intuitive truths, nuggets of wisdom, did your Future Self provide?
What will you act on?

Your Future Self knows what is best for you and doesn’t want you to live with regrets.

What is going to get you off the fence and live to your fullest potential?

Let your Future Self be your guide.
