Hi ,

Do you have a dream?

Up until 1954, scientists and doctors believed that running a sub-four-minute mile was impossible. The human heart would simply not be able to handle the exertion.
"They thought the human body couldn’t physically go that fast – that it would collapse under the pressure."

In the 1940s the record for running a mile had reached 4:01 and it stayed there.

On May 6, 1954, Roger Bannister ran the first sub-four-minute mile (3:59.4) in recorded history.

What was so amazing about Roger Bannister’s record-breaking victory was that he opened the door for other people to start running sub-four-minute miles.

Forty-Six days after Mr. Bannister’s record, another runner ran a sub-four beating Banister’s new record. And more followed.

How was this possible when for years it was said it couldn’t be done. An entire decade went by without a sub-four-minute mile and then it was crushed. Human beings didn’t develop superpowers. What changed was the expectation & the belief of what was possible.

Many of us have a dream but never see ourselves achieving it. The expectation is that it is impossible; it can’t be done.
For years we tell ourselves how impossible or foolhardy our dream is.
We live within self-imposed boundaries.

If you believe that you:

  • are not deserving of a promotion;
  • are not knowledgeable enough to start your own business;
  • are not qualified enough to apply for that new job
  • are not disciplined enough to release the weight
  • don’t deserve to have joy whether that comes in the form of:

o   a relationship;

o   more travel;

o   season tickets to your see your favorite sports team

o   purchasing a home or a second home

  • Can’t ____________(Fill in your dream here)

It won’t happen.

Are these achievements truly impossible or is it your level of expectation and your beliefs.
If you can’t see it happening, it won’t.

Raise your level of expectation and raise your belief in you!

I was told that I couldn’t run a marathon by my high school coach. If I listened and didn’t take steps to increase the level of belief in myself, I wouldn’t have completed seven marathons and several other distance races.

Your dream is waiting for you to take action.
Expect a positive outcome and make it happen.

Don’t keep your dreams bottled up.

Share them.

Pursue them!

They matter!
